Peace, tranquillity and a very warm Yorkshire welcome await you at Callender House in the pretty village of Burton Leonard. We are centrally situated between Harrogate and Ripon, and ideally located for both town and country.
Our rooms are decorated and appointed to a very high standard, combining antique furniture and modern bathrooms; crisp, white bed linen and fluffy, white towels. We pride ourselves on our personal service and want all our guests to feel spoiled and relaxed during their stay with us. When you first arrive we like to welcome you with a reviving cup of tea or coffee, and our speciality homemade scones, lavishly spread with jam and cream. And, after a peaceful night’s sleep, wake up to a delicious breakfast with homemade and locally-sourced produce, in particular freshly laid, free range eggs from the farm down the lane.
We are just 5 miles from the Cathedral City of Ripon and the ancient Market Town of Knaresborough, and 8 miles from the cosmopolitan spa town of beautiful Harrogate. A wealth of historical and cultural sites are also within easy reach of Callender House – the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Roger, Ripley Castle and Newby Hall to name but a few. In addition, there are many walks that can be taken either from outside our door, or within a short drive into the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
You can rest assured that we will do everything we can to ensure your time at Callender House is exactly as you want it. When you are ready, you can book online on our website or, if you have any questions, please give us a call on 01765 677767. We look forward to hearing from you.
We have completed our first season and have been delighted at the response and reviews – thank you lovely guests.
We returned home in 2016 after working overseas for many years. It was always my dream to follow in the footsteps of my mum who, for over 30 years, ran an award-winning Bed and Breakfast from the family farm in the Yorkshire Dales.
Living in the Middle East for many years has meant we have been able to enjoy five-star hospitality in the many luxury hotels the area has to offer. It has also meant that we have been able to take advantage of the opportunities for travel that living in that part of the world offers and we have been very lucky to have travelled in five continents. Wherever we travel we always stay in a B & B as our first choice – we have found that first-class B & Bs offer the comfort, relaxation, first-hand knowledge of the area and personal touch that just can’t be offered in a hotel. We feel that your stay is the most important element of your holiday, and strive to provide a first-class experience
We very much look forward to welcoming you to Callender House.
